Freshfields in India

Meeting at awa india.

A meeting at AWA beneath the freshfields banner

As a result of several visits from the Indian family running AWA in Mombai over the new year period and discussions with staff and trustees here at our shelter we decided to pledge our support to this excellent committed and ethical rescue working in dire conditions in India.

Most of the Liverpool staff met and chatted with AWA personnel and were so impressed with their integrity that formal links have been set up. Staff were suprised to see the Freshfields signage over their work stations, so many thousands of miles away.

They had adopted our logo because years ago they had encountered our work, name and idealism and were so impressed that they wanted to share our name. In our turn, we think its time we twinned our shelters with the Mombai shelter.

Even more we think our supporters would like to see the work they do, support it and this year we would like to send out 2 Freshfields staff for a 3 month period to work alongside AWA staff in their clinic and experience the very different conditions, problems and stresses that Mombai culture presents.

The charity will be supporting this project.
