First Event by Southport Support Group raises over £650 for Freshfields!

Members of the Freshfields Animal Rescue Southport Support Group were celebrating this week after their first ever fundraising event raised over £650.

Their “Fab Fashion” Show at Emmanuel Church Hall in Southport was organised with the help of four local retailers – AJB Wigs, Artees, Emersons and Merry-Go-Round.

The models (children and gentlemen as well as ladies) were all local people modelling for the first time and included several volunteer supporters of Freshfields.

Fundraising Manager George Kearton said today – “this is a superb start for our first new Support Group. Group member Elisabeth Cavanagh and her family were the mainstays of the event but every member of the Group worked very hard to help them.”

“It just goes to show what a small group of determined people can do to raise funds for the Rescue and I’m sure that the two other new Groups we formed last month (Crosby and St Helens) will enjoy just as much success”.

Southport Support Group’s next two events are a collection at Southport FC ground on April 18th and a Hotpot Supper with live music on May 22nd – ring Group Secretary Chris Lean on 07986 107047 for details or if you’d like to join the Group.
