Appeals

Southport Bookshop Appeal

Hi there, can any of our supporters help with the following:

We are still very short of quality DVDs and CDs (no copies please)

We also need more books on the following subjects:-

Fiction - crime and action

We also take clothes, rags etc as there is money to be made for the charity out of many items, even out of an old handbag! Please make sure they are clean!

Please note below what can and cannot be accepted in Southport:

Books (any condition, if they are clean and good, we sell, if they are dog-eared we can still make money for the charity by recycling them)
Vinyl (good condition as we can't recycle these)
Clothing including shoes, bags, boots, belts (again any condition, we can make money!)
DVDs (must be good condition as can't recycle these)
CDs (must be good condition as can't recycle these)
CD Players (must be good condition as can't recycle these)
DVD Players (must be good condition as can't recycle these)
Quality bric-a-brac including jewellery
Toys, games, puzzles

Also, we still desperately need volunteers to come forward, the duties mainly include sorting books and/or till work, tidying up or labelling things, stacking shelves, culling etc. Ideally, volunteers need to be interested in books and customer service, but full training is waiting for them.

A 'shift' need only be a morning, a middle or an afternoon, many volunteers literally do a couple of hours a week, so if someone wants to volunteer but is afraid that a shift is too much we need to get across that it can be whatever they can manage even if that is just to cover lunch time.

We really NEED your help and support!

Thank You

Sturdy Garden Benches Needed

Hi there,

Can anyone help the Liverpool rescue by donating a garden bench to us?

These are required to replace the current seats we have at the Liverpool centre (which were also donated some years ago) that have now weathered and worn to the degree that they are no longer safe to use.  We really need to be able to provide safe seating for potential adoptees that are waiting to view animals, this can make all the difference and we have so many animals to rehome!

We are able to collect within a 15 mile radius of the centre.

Please note however that for the sake of health and safety any donated benches must be sturdy and in good condition for us to be able to accept them.

If you can help please telephone 0151 931 1604 or email fiona@freshfieldsrescue.org.uk

THANK YOU! grin

Haunted Liverpool manager Jan Robinson is looking to build a dedicated team of enthusiasts of 'all things Ghostly' to help run events throughout Liverpool and the surrounding area. Jan needs reliable team members who are happy to give up a few hours each week or month to help marshall events, sell raffle tickets, man the door etc, etc.  There are multiple voluntary positions available and your own transport is essential although basic expenses may be met.

Volunteers need to be outgoing and be able to work with large groups of people. Ghost Walk marshals will be required to lead the Ghost Hunt, tell a short story in the cemetery and interact with the group and the Guide. Some acting ability is preferred, but not essential. Training and scripts will be given to succesful applicants. Some public speaking will be required at certain events and training will be given.
