Welcome to the Kennels

On average we rehome 180 dogs annually. We are very proud of this achievement and as each year passes we strive to increase this number. Every single day we receive telephone calls from people who can no longer keep their dogs for one reason or another and every day we hear word of dogs abused and abandoned on the streets. If only we could help them all!

The reality is that we can’t help every dog, but what we can do is strive to do the very best we can for each one that passes through our doors, ensuring that it’s needs are met and that it gets that second chance to find a new home that will be a permanent one.

The kennels environment is a very stressful one…the longer an animal stays here the more intense that stress can become. At Freshfields we do not believe that any animal is beyond re-homing, it is simply waiting for that right home and that is why our dedicated staff have undergone specialist training, enabling us to utilise the best of what we have learnt for the animals in our care, helping them to adjust and to be re-homed quickly. The less time in a kennel environment the better for the dog. The more certain we can be that we have found the right home for a dog, the less chance of it coming back to us.
