| My name is: |
Sally |
| Status: |
I need a home! |
| I was admitted: |
November 05 2011 |
| I think I am: |
3 years old |
| Reason I was brought here: |
I have spent all of my life shut in a shed! This wasn't right for me (or any other dog for that matter), thankfully it has been accepted that I deserve a better future than this so... here I am at Freshfields. |
| Reason I am still here: |
I haven't been here long, but my unhealthy past means I need special help to adapt to the normal doggy world that most of my kind would take for granted. I'm also stone deaf so any potential new family needs to be aware of this. |
| I am a: |
Female |
| Vaccinated: |
No |
| Neutered: |
Yes |
| I like children: |
I don't have any experience of children. |
| I like dogs: |
I like dogs but I can be a bit dominant. |
| I like cats: |
I think I can control myself around cats but I haven't much experience here either. |
| I like smalll animals: |
I have no experience of small animals |
| I do not like: |
Being shut in a shed! |
| My temperament / personality: |
Well I'm quite exciteable but that's because I'm adjusting to this new life of being indoors, around people and with all sorts of interesting things going on. My deafness makes adapting a little harder but there's nothing more to it than that. I do calm down after a little while and the more I get used to this new routine the calmer I will become. Aunty Lesley has described me as 'a loving little dog' and I can tell you she knows a thing or two about dogs!!! |
| Condition upon arrival: |
I think I was in pretty good condition |
| Condition now: |
I'm good thanks, it's true that I'm deaf but I like to keep a positive attitude and it's not the end of the world now is it? |
| I require this special care: |
Patience, calmness, understanding. This move has been a real shock to my system, in a good way of course but it still takes some getting used to. I need a home where someone is around all day to help me settle and keep me feeling secure. Because I have lived in a shed for so long I'm not 100% housetrained so whoever gives me a home needs to understand I might not sort this out overnight. You will need to be patient, particularly as adjusting is hard enough for any dog let alone a stone deaf one who has lived outside all their life. For me it could prove to be that little bit harder! |
| Possible future requirements & financial implications: |
None that I know of although any dog can need to see the vet from time to time so it's always best to be prepared. |
| My ideal family would be: |
A calm household where I can relax, not too busy and with humans that will be patient, loving and generally adore me! A family where someone is home most of the time because I will need that sort of stability to help adjust to the new routine. |
| Notes: |
Sally is an adorable little dog who is not much bigger than a Jack Russell. I deally we would like to see her rehomed quickly as she needs a proper and permanent routine. |
