Mork and MindyThese two bunnies where brought to the door the night after a terrible thunder storm, the lady claimed they were found by her bin in a box, both rabbits were in poor condition but Mork was in the worst state, he was skin and bone, had a matted dirty coat, matted weepy eye and a head tilt, our vet was appalled by his condition. To our surprise they were micro chipped, we contacted the owner who said she had given them away a few weeks earlier to the lady who brought them in to us! Mork and Mindy are a lovely pair of rabbits. Mork has blocked tear ducts and so his eyes run a lot. He needs the hair around his eyes trimming regularly as it does become matted and sore. This means that Mork looks a mess but apart from his tear ducts he is in fine health. Mindy does groom Mork occassionally, unfortunately not enough to keep his eyes clear. These rabbits have had a tough time so far and need someone really special to make up for it. Even though Mork obviously hates us treating his eyes he is so well behaved and loves to be cuddled. They are two very special bunnies. Mork and Mindy now require regular dental treatment in addition to their other health problems. Because of this we have decided that they are now permanent residents here so that they can be closely monitored by our vets and will not be rehomed. However the medical treatment that they receive is expensive and we are always grateful for any donations towards their upkeep. |
