MikkiMikki was rescued from a dog pound, he was emaciated and his hair was badly matted. After lots of TLC, Mikki now looks a million dollars! He is an adorable little dog who loves to sit next to you or on your knee and be stroked.
Mikki suffers badly from stress. This is managed by trying to keep him as calm as possible. He is on a behavioural programme which keeps his mind stimulated yet teaches him how to relax. This isn’t easy in a kennel environment but he is doing well. Mikki has never shown any aggression towards the kennel staff. However in a previous home he has bitten. This was due to the man in the house shouting and causing Mikki stress which he couldn’t cope with.
Mikki is such a sweet, adorable dog who is very deserving of a loving home. He needs an understanding, patient owner who will help him overcome his problems. We feel that in a calm, quiet environment Mikki would make progress fast. Mikki has been taken on a number of home visits by a member of kennel staff, as shown in the short video below Mikki really relaxes when away from the kennels. He cant cope very well with the chaotic rescue life, and shows stress and frustrations by chasing cars, and focusing on people, joggers, bikes or dogs whilst on a walk. If he was calmer this behaviour would soon be under control.
Please don’t dismiss Mikki. He is an amazing little dog and will make a fantastic friend for the right person. Mikki needs somebody with experience of dogs. No children. It must be calm, quiet home. A patient, sensible owner, who is prepared to follow behavioural advice and put some time and commitment into helping Mikki. In the past two homes Mikki has attached to one person. He needs a single person household that will be sensible with him when visitors come round.
