Harry

Harry was originally brought to Freshfields as he had bitten his owner. They had wanted to put Harry to sleep but we managed to persuade them not to - and how glad we are! Harry has been rehomed a couple of times now, and has always been returned for biting. He suffers from separation problems and doesn't really like to be left. He grumbles and snaps at your heels as you try to close gates and doors behind you. When Harry bit his first owner is was during such a situation.

This was never a problem in his adoptive home as they simply left the doors open. Harry loves to have a cuddle and he gets on ok with other dogs out on walks, but it would not be suitable for him to live with them. He is great on a walk and is fantastic when off the lead - he'll run as fast as he can (while keeping and eye on you all the time) and then he'll come charging back. Harry loves greeting new people and getting attention and has never shown any problems when walking with strangers or children.

Harry is one of our smallest, cutest looking dogs and so therefore there is always lots of attention in him. The staff ask that you please consider the following before asking about Harry:

• it will take at least 6 months for Harry to settle into your home.
• he will definately bite you at some point.
• he will spend long periods of time barking for no reason.
• he will damage the bottom of your doors

If you are still interseted in Harry, you will be asked to introduce him slowly into your home. This process will probably take several months before you are able to take him perminantly!

Harry needs an adult only home, with someone who has experience of his breed of dog and so knows what to expect of him. He would benefit from a calm, quiet home.
