Cooper

Cooper was tied up to our car park gates with a note saying his owner was disabled and couldn’t walk him. He is very frustrated by kennel life. He is a young, energetic dog who demands a lot of attention but hasn’t been socialised with other dogs so therefore isn’t very good with them.

He is still young, so with the right socialisation training he could overcome this problem. Unfortunately as he isn’t good with other dogs, the kennel environment isn’t ideal. The noise and commotion upsets him and causes him stress. We are trying to keep him as calm as possible and take steps to cause him as little stress as possible. Cooper has great potential. Away from the rescue we feel he will thrive and make a lovely companion friend. He is a lively, bouncy boy so we feel it is appropriate to ask for an adult only home. He is very intelligent and will do anything for food.

Overall, Cooper is a fantastic dog who will make a great friend. As explained Cooper isn’t good with other dogs, although we feel with the right socialisation programme this may improve. He is quite stressed so a calm, gentle home would be necessary. His new owner should be part of a quiet, adult only home and and have previous experience of dogs., They need to be patient and committed, the ability to keep him calm and relaxed will help him settle down.
