Animal Husbandry & Welfare Assistant - Cattery

A VACANCY HAS ARISEN FOR THE POSITION OF 'ANIMAL HUSBANDRY & WELFARE ASSISTANT' IN OUR CATTERY

The ideal applicant will be:
A highly committed team player who is hard working, enthusiastic, keen to learn, responsible, adaptable, reliable, understanding of a resource based working environment and 100% dedicated to the welfare of the animals.

The ideal applicant, who will view the position as a vocation, will also be an excellent communicator who is able to converse with the general public in an open, friendly and polite manner.

An understanding of cats and cat behaviour is essential.

Experience of medicating cats is preferred but not essential as training will be given.

The ability to follow direction/instruction and work under pressure is a must as is attention to detail.

Flexible rota - Minimum wage. Must be able to work 10 hour shifts (8am – 6pm).

Full driving license essential.

The successful applicant will join our existing cattery team and take part in all aspects of cattery work from general cleaning and care of animals to assessment and re-homing processes.

Kennesl Assistant

A vacancy has arisen for the position of kennels assistant working 40 hrs per week on a flexible rota.

The ideal applicant will be:

A highly committed team player who is hard working, enthusiastic, keen to learn, responsible, adaptable, reliable, understanding of a resource based working environment and 100% dedicated to the welfare of the animals.

The ideal applicant, who will view the position as a vocation, will also be an excellent communicator who is able to converse with the general public in an open, friendly and polite manner.

The ability to follow direction/instruction and work under pressure is a must as is attention to detail.

Experience preferred - Full driving license essential

The successful applicant will join our existing kennels team and take part in all aspects of kennels work from general cleaning and care of animals to assessment and re-homing processes.

Vacancies in Wales

Cattery Vacancy Wales

We are looking for someone to work at our Welsh centre caring for our rescued cats. The vacancy is for a part-time post for 13 hours. Must be able to start work at 7.30am and work Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

A genuine interest in animal welfare and own transport essential.

The job includes all aspects of caring for cats: feeding/cleaning/socialising the cats. Good communication skills required; the post involves engaging members of the public who will come to view the cats for adoption.

If you want to work with animals, are prepared to work hard for minimum wage and would like to be part of a dedicated friendly team, this may be the job for you.

We are looking for someone able to start as soon as possible.

If you genuinely don't mind getting your hands dirty...then we desperately need you at the Welsh rescue.

We have vacancies (voluntary only) for persons willing to work with the horses and in our cattery.

We are always in need of sensible, level headed individuals to take on the oh so important role of 'home checker'. If you feel able to dedicate a few hours as and when needed please contact us at the Welsh rescue or submit the form on the volunteer page.

Full training will be given.

This is an unpaid voluntary position.
